He first joined the franchise with a role in 2014’s Transformers: Age of Extinction. And Mark Wahlberg is back for the fifth installment of the Michael Bay action saga, as he was spotted filming in Detroit, Michigan on Saturday. The 45-year-old was seen falling backwards out of a bright yellow Chevy Camaro as he shot with Autobot ‘co-star’ Bumblebee.

Mark showed off his sculpted physique in a long-sleeved, fitted navy blue sweater coupled with a pair of slate grey trousers. The father-of-four finished off the look with a pair of black oxfords, and wore his hair slicked back for the scenes. He was seen sitting in the driver’s seat of the bright yellow car, which itself is a character in the movie, Autobot Bumblebee.

In a series of photographs from the Detroit set, Mark can be seen tumbling backwards as the driver’s seat turns and spills out of the vehicle. In between takes Mark could be seen protecting himself from the sun as he huddled beneath a large, black umbrella. And the fan friendly star also used time in between takes to greet some fans, while promoting his family’s restaurant, Wahlburgers, by sporting a baseball cap with its logo. The day before he had been seen wielding a sword while looking a bit disheveled and wearing distressed clothing to film scenes in front of a green screen.

He was joined by co-stars Josh Duhamel and Laura Haddock as they shot the scenes by the green screen and a giant fan. Anthony Hopkins, Tyrese Gibson, and Ken Watanabe also star in the upcoming sequel, directed by Michael Bay. Transformers: The Last Knight is due in theaters on June 23, 2017.  [dailymail.co.uk]

Posters may have the hardest job in all of movie marketing. How do you explain to an audience what an entire film is about in only a single image? Well, when everybody already knows the subject matter, it means you can focus on making that one image say a great deal. Mark Wahlberg’s new film Patriot’s Day tells the story of what happened after the Boston Marathon bombing, and its poster is both beautiful and chilling.

The attack on the Boston Marathon in 2013, one of the most well-known sporting events in the nation, resonated with millions of people. As such, it became a rallying cry for unity and patriotism, as other events in the past have also done. The Patriots Day poster gives that feeling of national unity, while also remembering where the event took place, by giving us a makeshift American flag, made from the laces of running shoes. The poster doesn’t explicitly tell you what it’s about, many, especially those in the Boston area, don’t need to be reminded, the rest of us don’t need to think too long to figure it out.

Along with the poster, CBS Films also released a new synopsis of Patriots Day:

In the aftermath of an unspeakable act of terror, Police Sergeant TOMMY SAUNDERS (Mark Wahlberg) joins courageous survivors, first responders and investigators in a race against the clock to hunt down the bombers before they strike again. Weaving together the stories of Special Agent RICHARD DESLAURIERS (Kevin Bacon), Police Commissioner ED DAVIS (John Goodman), Sergeant JEFFREY PUGLIESE (J.K. Simmons) and nurse CAROL SAUNDERS (Michelle Monaghan) this visceral and unflinching chronicle captures the suspense of the most sophisticated manhunt in law enforcement history and the strength of the people of Boston.

Patriots Day is going all out in an attempt to truly capture the events of that time period. Boston Red Sox player David Ortiz, who gave a memorable, and viral, speech following the suspects arrest, will actually recreate his speech for the film, in order to add a layer of additional authenticity to the film.

Patriots Day is one of two upcoming films that will deal with the Boston Marathon Bombing. While the Mark Wahlberg film will focus on the manhunt for the suspects that followed the traumatic event, Jake Gyllenhaal’s Boston Strong will deal more with how the attack impacted the people of Boston on a more personal level.

Patriots Day is scheduled for a limited release this December, before seeing its wide release in January of 2017. It’s clear Patriots sees itself as a major Oscar contender, as many films based on real life events tend to be. It’s certainly looking to tug at our heart strings this holiday season.

The Ted star will also produce the adaptation, alongside his frequent collaborator Stephen Levinson, whom he worked with on TV series Entourage, film The Gambler and the upcoming Patriots Day, about the Boston Marathon bombing. The film is being made by Paramount, but a writer and director are yet to be announced, The Tracking Board reports.

Bethlehem, which was originally released in 2013, tells the story of the complicated relationship between an Israeli Secret Service officer and his teenage Palestinian informant that grows even more morally conflicted, when the young man learns his employers are plotting to assassinate his radical brother. Cutting between conflicting points of view, the film portrays characters torn apart by conflicting loyalties.

Yuval directed the original film, and co-wrote the script with Ali Wakad over a period spanning from 2007 to 2010. Gaining critical acclaim, the film was screened at the Venice Film Festival, where it won the Fedeora Award for Best Film.

It was also selected as the Israeli entry for the Foreign Language Film at the 86th Academy Awards, after winning six Ophir Awards (Israeli Oscars) including Best Screenplay, but was not nominated.

Yuval has since gone on to break into the mainstream market, directing supernatural horror for STX Entertainment and The Last of the Tribe, which is set in the Amazon.

Mark, 45, is no stranger to acting in Hollywood versions of foreign films, having starred in Martin Scorsese’s The Departed, a 2002 remake of the Hong Kong crime-thriller Infernal Affairs.

The coming of a Wahlburgers to downtown Detroit (as one of six metro Detroit locations) is causing a lot of buzz in the city.

Over the weekend, Actor Mark Wahlberg, who is also part of the Wahlburgers chain and appears on the “Wahlburgers” television show, did a press appearance at their new Greektown location on Monroe that’s under construction.

He said that it’ll be four weeks until the Wahlburgers is ready to open, and he encouraged people to head downtown and hang out. The city is definitely abuzz with the Transformers 5 filming and the annual set of events that happens.

“We’re shooting the movie in town we’re going to be down here every night hanging out, come on down,” said Wahlberg. You can see him in the video above.

Mark Wahlberg owns the chain with his brothers Paul Wahlberg and Donnie Wahlberg, who is also an actor.

That would mean the opening is coming in last week of July, for you Wahlburger fans out there. It’s part of a greater plan to expand to 118 Wahlburger locations.

The new Wahlburgers in Greektown will be at 569 Monroe Street in downtown Detroit.

With their bulging muscles and Boston accents, the Wahlberg brothers have a reputation for being one of the toughest sibling acts around – but that didn’t stop Donnie Wahlberg from tearing up when reminiscing about their humble beginnings.

While being interviewed with his New Kids on the Block bandmates by his wife Jenny McCarthy on her SiriusXM show, the singer, 46, got emotional recalling how Mark, 45, credited him for his success during the band’s 2011 concert at Fenway Park.

“I’m gonna cry,” Wahlberg told McCarthy in front of the intimate group of fans gathered in the SiriusXM studios. “He was the original member of the band with me.”

According to the star, the memories of those early moments with his younger brother are especially important now that both are busy with their own lives and careers.

“Obviously we’re brothers and partners in business and our relationship is fine, but it’s different,” he said. “We’ve grown so far apart, just through work and career and things that are important.”

Wahlberg explained to his wife during the interview that Mark’s introduction struck a cord because it reminded him of the band’s very first show where his brother was also the one to call them up on stage.

“When Mark acknowledged that he introduced us at the first show and now it’s come full circle to acknowledging us and introducing us at Fenway, I’d forgotten that he did that,” he said of the moment that made him realize how much they had accomplished over the years.

Added the singer: “That’s what moved me. It’s the look how far we’ve all come.”

Mark Wahlberg is bringing the real-life disaster story of the 2010 Deepwater Horizon oil rig explosion to life on the big screen.

“Good Morning America” debuted the new trailer for the film, “Deepwater Horizon,” which features the stories of those who worked on the BP rig during its harrowing final hours. The April 2010 explosion killed 11 people and triggered the biggest oil spill in U.S. history.

Wahlberg stars as Mike Williams, an electrician who escaped from the burning rig. He’s joined by an impressive cast: Dylan O’Brien as floorhand Caleb Holloway; Gina Rodriguez as young crew member Andrea Fleytas; Kurt Russell as crew member Jimmy Harrell; and John Malkovich as BP representative Donald Vidrine.

“Deepwater Horizon,” hits theaters Sept. 30, 2016. Watch the trailer below.  [abcnews.go.com]

Optus is targeting small and medium-sized business (SMBs) with a new campaign partnering with actor and Wahlburgers fast-food chain founder, Mark Wahlberg.

The new drive, which also features Olympic gold medalist Ian Thorpe, will support the opening of 126 new stores specializing in offering support for SMBs as Optus works to position itself as a player in the business market alongside Telstra.

The campaign represents the first work for Optus by With Collective after a major reshuffle of its agencies.

Thrive PR + Communications, UM and Amobee all also worked on the campaign.

Wahlberg will be used to promote smaller businesses thinking bigger, tapping into his own heritage growing up in working class Boston, becoming a successful actor and then founding his own burger chain, Wahlburgers.

Rob Parcell, managing director of Optus Small Business, said the new initiative had been designed to offer businesses premium service.

“Mark absolutely epitomises what it is to believe big because he has done it. He grew up in working class Boston with plenty of hurdles, but through hard work had the courage to believe big and make things possible,” Parcell said.

Wahlburgers will establish its first South Carolina location in the heart of Myrtle Beach.

The eatery – a burger joint that inspired a reality television show staring Mark and Donnie Wahlberg – will open later this year at Broadway at the Beach just inside Celebrity Square. The Myrtle Beach location is the first of four slated to open in the Carolinas.

“We’re thrilled to be bringing Wahlburgers to Myrtle Beach,” CEO Rick Vanzura said in a news release. “While we look forward to welcoming the throngs of tourists who visit Myrtle Beach, we’re especially eager to open our doors to the local community and become a meaningful part of it.”

Wahlburgers will share the same signature green interior and characteristics of the flagship location in Hingham, Mass., complete with a fast casual counter, full-service dining room with a bar, mezzanine seating and an outdoor patio, according to the news release. A retail section will sell branded Wahlburgers merchandise.

The Myrtle Beach location will occupy 5,070 square feet while offering a full menu that “emphasizes creativity and quality ingredients.”

The restaurant inspired a hit reality TV series on A&E that began airing in 2014, and features the behind-the-scenes drama of operating a restaurant as well as their efforts to expand the burger joint to new markets.

The show has featured a unique mix of celebrity guest stars, including NASCAR driver Dale Earnhardt, Jr., music titan P. Diddy and Pope Francis I.

The Hollywood actor is a dad to two daughters and two sons with wife Rhea Durham and has been able to strike a balance between his career and family life. That said, Mark doesn’t choose jobs as lightly as he used to now that he’s got other responsibilities.

“Absolutely,” he told Men’s Fitness magazine when asked if being a spiritual person impacts the films he chooses. “And also being a dad. And a husband. What I’m willing to do and not do. I never want to compromise my artistic integrity. But at the same time, with (playing a porn star in) Boogie Nights, I already did that. I’d be hard-pressed to do something in that world today.”

It’s fair to say that Mark is a far cry from the younger man he used to be, with numerous run-ins with the law and drug addictions in his past. Now with success to his name and children who look up to him, the 44-year-old is most concerned with focusing on making a positive impact.

“Sometimes you have no control,” he sighed. “Once you’ve done everything you can to create something, it goes out there and it either works or doesn’t. At the end of the day I just know I did everything I could do to make it the best it would be. Then you gotta be able to move on. Let it go.”

He also goes out of his way to ensure his offspring have everything he missed out on growing up, while instilling a strong work ethic in them. So amid all the fun they have together, Mark maintains discipline and structure and tries to keep his brood busy at all times.

Mark Wahlberg is known for his extremely fit figure, which you can see on this current cover of Men’s Fitness.  In the video below, the actor offered a few secrets into his workout regime as he kicks off his latest fitness project — the natural workout supplement line Performance Inspired!

Speaking on the company he founded with GNC exec Tom Dowd, Wahlberg, 44, said he has always been committed to taking an all-natural approach to building muscle and staying in shape.

The actor said that “getting the proper nutrition with proper supplements” was “one of the big reasons” he became involved in the Performance Inspired project. “We want to give people the best that there is and give them the best chance to succeed. And the only way to do it right is to do it naturally,” he explained.

Wahlberg went on to share part of his philosophy for making sure he maintains a healthy body and avoids a workout lull! “Eating and the proper nutrition is probably about 85 percent of it,” he said. For me, I like to push the workouts and kind of change it up and test myself. I always want to be able to lift a little bit more. Do a couple more reps. It really comes down to eating right.” [radaronline.com]

Over the course of his 25-year career, Mark Wahlberg has redefined “reinvention,” going from musician to underwear model to actor to leading man to, ultimately, one of Hollywood’s most versatile stars and megaproducers. Now he’s kicking ass in a whole new arena: that of an entrepreneurial powerhouse.

Wahlburgers, the hamburger chain he launched with his brothers Paul and Donnie—and turned into an A&E reality show by the same name—is blowing up, with seven locations and another 100 planned. AquaHydrate, the fitness water company he fronts with Sean Combs, is gobbling up market share. And this month Wahlberg will launch his most personal venture yet: a “clean” supplement company called Performance Inspired. (He’s not the only big name involved—ultrafit golfer Rory McIlroy is attached to the company, too.)

Built on Walberg’s experience beefing up his physique for films like Lone Survivor, The Fighter, and Transformers, Performance Inspired is no mere “endorsement” for the star. Every free moment he has, he’s hustling for the brand—researching the competition, working the phones, and reaching out to distributors. Yet somehow he does all this and his day job: He recently wrapped Deepwater Horizon, about the 2010 BP oil spill, and is now filming Patriots Day, about the Boston Marathon bombing. And after that it’s the next Transformers movie, with director Michael Bay.

So how does a superstar, superproducer, and nascent business mogul—not to mention father of four—even find the time to play golf, much less with a 300-yard swing? We caught up with him in the Hollywood Hills, still sporting an oil-rig worker’s goatee, to talk about his drive on and off the golf course.

HE MIGHT BE A ROOKIE IN THE SUPPLEMENTS INDUSTRY, BUT HE’S PLAYING TO WIN.

“The great thing about my partner Tom Dowd is that he worked for 25 years at GNC and helped build some of the greatest products out there. We see how the space is growing. [We’re] creating a product line
that wasn’t out there yet. I’ve always been adamant about being natural, no matter what I was doing—training, putting on weight, losing weight. So this is an all-natural product— nothing that can give you a bad reaction. Student athletes
can take it, collegiate athletes—you never have to worry.”
